Bio:
Alaskan resident Doug Myers was born in California, raised in Oregon, and in Washington State served professionally as a licensed counseling therapist with the court system and in private practice. He later became joint owner of a rustic fish camp located on a remote river in Southwest Alaska. His adventures were shared with Native friends at their historic village site in the Bristol Bay Region. Visits to Bristol Bay and other distant areas of the Bering Sea, Alaska Peninsula, and Kodiak island offered cultural insights, fascinating sport fishing experiences, and close encounters with some of Alaska's renowned brown bear. As an Alaskan author Myers' goal is to share Alaska's intrigue, including its scenic treasure, Native culture, and wildlife adventure. His counseling and communications background encourages a sensitive narrative style of meaningful wilderness journeys leading to soulful discoveries. Myers' passions also include photography and illustrative art, which are incorporated in his writings and publications.
